Kroeze, a mathematics education major from Milton, Wisconsin - who served as chapter president last year - says the fraternity is also focused on helping people and having a positive impact. Since their charter in 2013, the men of Alpha Sigma Phi have strived to "better the man." UW-Whitewater beat out 130 other chapters for the award, which honors excellence in community service, philanthropy, recruitment and professional development. "As we walked to the stage, people were greeting us, asking how we were able to accomplish so much because we are such a young chapter. "We looked at one another in stunned disbelief as everyone else cheered," Kroeze said. The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater chapter, barely two years old, was just announced as the winner of the Grand Senior President's Cup - the fraternity's highest chapter honor.
